for TTDPatch and OpenTTD
developed by TT-Forums members

Version 2.0a - March 2010

The Japanese Stations Set is part of the Japan Set which consists of the following GRF files, available from the Japan Set homepage:

Installation and settings for TTD Patch

For general information on how to use GRF files in TTDPatch, read the TTD Patch manual. The Japanese Stations Set is available in a DOS version ("jpstationsd.grf") and a Windows version ("jpstationsw.grf"). Simply copy the grf file into the "newgrf" folder inside your TTD main folder and add the entry "newgrf/jpstations[d/w].grf" (with the "d" or "w" depending on whether you are using the DOS or Windows version of TTD) to your "newgrf[w].cfg" file.

You need to set the following variables in your ttdpatch.cfg file:

Installation and settings for Open TTD

For general information on how to use GRF files in OpenTTD, read the OpenTTD manual. If you have downloaded the Japanese Stations Set from the Japan Set homepage, simply copy the grf file into the "data" folder inside your OpenTTD folder. Alternatively, you can use OpenTTD's online content service, as described here. To use the Japanese Stations Set in a new game, you only have to add it under NewGRF Settings on the title screen.

If you have an older version of the Japanese Stations Set installed, it recommend that you rename and keep that version as long as you want to load savegames that use it. Replacing the old version with the new in an existing game will mess up all your existing stations!

Compatibility with other GRF files

The Japanese Stations Set is designed to be used together with the other GRF files in the Japan Set listed above. However, there should not be any incompatibilities with other GRF files of any kind. If you experience problems (like some or all Japanese station parts being unavailable) you should try to deactivate other station GRFs, because only a limited number of different station tiles can be used at the same time.
